The focus of Arne Lösekann’s activities is on conceptual works that are conceived of globally but are always also interwoven with his home ground.

Many of his works deal with travelling, with being away and with temporary mooring in his home port. The artist has already crossed countless borders during his lifetime, having travelled in South America, India, China, Russia and the USA. He reflects upon what he has seen and experienced in his works.

Kathrin Baumstark studied art history, religious studies and Modern German Literature at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. After graduating with a master’s thesis on “The altered work concept in fine arts with the studio of Olafur Eliasson as a model”, she became a research assistant and a lecturer with the Interfaculty Program Study of Religion of the LMU. In 2015, she obtained her doctorate in religious studies and art history with a thesis entitled “Death and the Maiden. Erotic, Sexuality and Death in the German-speaking World between the Late Middle Ages and the Early Modern Era”.

In 1997, he founded the FX FACTORY GmbH in Berlin and headed the design department as Creative Director. In 2000, he founded the Hamburg design agency redsundesign, in which he is active as Creative Director, concept developer & photographer. He has also headed CineCitizens as artistic director since 2020.

He has created many documentary, showy and scenic moving image formats in short form and in feature film length for TV, online and cinema (incl. “Mein neuer Freund”, “Jonas”, “Die Mockridges”) and is currently working as a producer for the YouTube channel of heute-show-online and as a freelance, artistic photographer on a photo book.

he can also often be found as a cameraman in the Hamburg art scene, where he regularly documents works at Kampnagel, among other themes, and most recently worked with performers and actors in international projects like the “Beccaria Diaries”.

He studied camera at the “Speri-mentale di Cinematographia” in Rome and sound design in Amsterdam, as well as four years of film direction at the “National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts” in Bulgaria.  He recently concluded his three-year programme of study for camera and direction at the “Hochschule für bildende Kunst” (HfBK) in Hamburg.

During and after studying, he worked as a freelance copywriter and editor in advertising and for television. As one of the founders of CineCitizens, he is responsible in creation for the concept ideas, screenplays and the dramaturgy of the performances.
